Pro Tech Tips

Tip 1: Degrease Before the First Start. Before you start your engine for the first time after installation, thoroughly wipe down the entire stainless steel exhaust with rubbing alcohol or a degreaser. Any fingerprints, oils, or grease left on the surface will "bake" into the metal during the first heat cycle, causing permanent stains or discoloration on your new polished finish.

Tip 2: Use High-Temp Anti-Seize. Always apply a small amount of high-temperature anti-seize lubricant to the exhaust studs and mounting hardware. Stainless steel and high-heat environments can lead to hardware galling or seizing over time; using anti-seize ensures that you can easily remove or adjust the system in the future without snapping studs.

Tip 3: Re-Torque After Heat Cycles. New exhaust gaskets, especially the riser gaskets included in the kit, will compress after they have been through a few heat cycles. After driving the vehicle for about 50 to 100 miles, go back and re-torque all mounting nuts and bolts to ensure everything remains tight and leak-free as the components settle.
