It is an ideal performance upgrade for Baja Bugs, rail buggies, and off-road projects where maximizing ground clearance is a priority. This header is designed to bolt directly to the cylinder heads, which means it completely eliminates the factory heater boxes.

Strip the Storage Paint: The black coating found on these headers is a "transportation coating" designed to prevent rust during shipping and storage only. It is not high-heat paint and will burn off immediately. For a professional finish, sand or bead-blast the header and apply a high-quality ceramic coating or VHT header paint before installation.

Maintain Proper Cooling: Since this header eliminates the heater boxes, you will have open holes in your engine tin where the heater pipes used to pass through. To prevent engine overheating, ensure you install block-off plates on your fan shroud and seal any gaps in the tin to maintain proper high-pressure airflow over your cylinders.

Check Your Clearances: While this header provides excellent ground clearance, the 1-1/2 inch primary tubes are larger than stock. Before final tightening, check for clearance against your rear apron or any aftermarket bumper cages. Always use new copper exhaust nuts and quality gaskets at the cylinder heads to ensure a leak-free seal.
