OVERVIEW
When it is time to restore or upgrade the stopping power of your late-model Volkswagen, nothing beats the security and longevity of a complete Stainless Steel Brake Line Kit. Over decades of service, original factory steel lines are notorious for developing internal corrosion and external pitting, which can lead to catastrophic failure under emergency braking conditions. This 11-piece comprehensive kit is specifically engineered for the 1971 through 1979 Super Beetle, providing a permanent solution to the "spongy" pedal feel often associated with aging, restricted, or expanding lines. By upgrading to stainless steel, you are not just performing routine maintenance; you are investing in a lifetime of corrosion resistance and superior hydraulic pressure consistency that mild steel simply cannot match.
Precision-engineered to follow the complex routing of the Super Beetle''s unique MacPherson strut front suspension and independent rear suspension (IRS) chassis, this kit includes every hard line necessary to refresh your entire hydraulic system from the master cylinder to the wheel cylinders and calipers. Each line features the correct 10mm metric bubble flare fittings, ensuring a leak-free seal with your existing German or aftermarket braking components. Whether you are building a show-quality restoration or a reliable daily driver, these stainless lines offer a clean, professional appearance that resists road salt, moisture, and brake fluid degradation. Don''t settle for "good enough" when it comes to your VW''s safetyequip your Super Beetle with the ultimate hardware for a firm, responsive brake pedal every time you hit the anchors.

PRO TIPS
1. Use a Quality Tubing Bender for Precise Routing
Stainless steel is significantly harder and more rigid than standard mild steel or Copper-Nickel (NiCopp) lines. While these lines are pre-cut to the correct lengths, they arrive in a shipping configuration and require final contouring to fit your chassis. Never attempt to bend these by hand, as you risk kinking the tube, which creates a dangerous flow restriction. Use a high-quality handheld tubing bender to achieve smooth, professional radii. Take your time to match the bends of your old lines exactly before discarding them to ensure the new stainless lines clear all suspension travel and steering components without interference.
2. Always Use a Flare Nut Wrench
When installing these stainless lines into your master cylinder, wheel cylinders, or brake hoses, never use a standard open-end wrench. Stainless fittings are durable, but the metric flare nuts can still be rounded off if high torque is applied with a tool that only grips two sides. A 10mm flare nut wrench (also known as a line wrench) grips the nut on five sides, providing the necessary leverage to seat the bubble flare properly without damaging the hex. Ensure the threads are started by hand for at least three full turns to prevent cross-threading into your expensive aluminum or cast iron brake components.
3. Flush the System and Inspect Your Flex Hoses
Since you are opening the hydraulic system to install this 11-piece kit, this is the perfect opportunity to replace your rubber flex hoses and perform a complete system flush. Old rubber hoses often swell internally, mimicking the symptoms of a bad master cylinder. We highly recommend pairing this stainless hard-line kit with a new set of braided stainless or high-quality rubber flex lines. Once installed, bleed the system starting from the wheel furthest from the master cylinder (Passenger Rear) and work your way forward. Using a pressure bleeder will help ensure that all air bubbles are purged from the new lines, giving you the firmest pedal feel possible.
