1. Master Cylinder Sizing Matters

When switching from rear drums to rear discs, your stock master cylinder might not move enough fluid volume to provide a firm pedal. We highly recommend upgrading to a 20.6mm dual-circuit master cylinder. This ensures you have the hydraulic leverage needed to actuate the calipers effectively and provides an extra layer of safety for your braking system. If you stay with a smaller master cylinder, you may find the pedal travel to be excessive before the brakes fully engage.

2. Install a Residual Pressure Valve

Since this kit is for the rear of the vehicle, you must ensure your braking system is properly balanced. If your master cylinder is located lower than the calipers (common in some buggy builds) or if you experience a "spongy" first pump, installing a 2lb residual pressure valve in the rear line can keep the pads lightly seated against the rotor. This eliminates "knock-back" and ensures instant braking response every time you hit the pedal. Note that you should NEVER use a 10lb valve (intended for drums) on a disc brake circuit, as it will cause the brakes to drag and overheat.
