Pro Tech Tips for Installation

Thread Preparation: Before installing your new chromoly studs, use a thread chaser or a bottoming tap to clean the internal threads in the engine case. Debris or old sealant in the case can lead to "false torque" readings, which may cause a head gasket failure or a pulled stud later on.

Case-Side Sealing: To prevent oil from weeping past the threads, apply a small amount of medium-strength thread locker or a high-quality thread sealant to the end of the stud that threads into the engine case.
